UPSC invites application on prescribed forms by 28/08/2008 (4th September, 2008 for the candidates from far flung areas) for various posts in various Government of India Ministries and Departments in the prescribed format. The post are :

Technical Adviser (Boiler) : 01 post in Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Commerce & Industry Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 18400-22400, Age : 50 years, Qualification : Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 15 years experience.

Civilian Gliding Instructors : 02 posts in NCC Air Squadrons, directorate General of NCC, Defence Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 8000-13500/- , Age : 35 years, Qualification : M.Sc. Degree in Chemistry/Bio-Chemistry/ Chemistry of Foods and Drugs and Water or equivalent. 2 years experience in imparting training in food analysis (ii) Intimate knowledge of food standards, food compositions and detection of adultration.

Statistical Investigator Gr.II : 01 post (OBC) in the Office of Registrar General, India, Home Affairs Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 6500-10500/-, Age : 33 years, Qualification: 10+2 pass or its equivalent with Physics and Math (ii) Flight Instructor Rating (Gliders) OR Private Pilot Licence (Aeroplane)/
Commercial Pilot Licence (Aeroplane)/ Glider Pilot Licence (Licence)/ NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Air Wing).

Barack Stores Officers : 03 posts in Enginerr-in-Chiefs Branch, Integrated Headquarter (Army) (OBC-1, PH-1) Defence Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 6500-10500/-, Age : 30 years, Qualification: Degree in Engineering OR Post Graduate Degree in Arts, Science or Commerce or equivalent. 3 years experience.

Senior Scientific Officer Gr. II (Ballistics) : 01 post in Ballistics Division, Central Forensic Science Laboratories, Home Affairs Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 8000-13500/-, Age : 35 years, Qualification: Master’s Degree in Physics/ Mathematics/ Forensic Science with Physics or Mathematics as one of the subjects at Bachelor degree level. 3 years experience.
