UNIVERSITY OF JAMMU ADVERTISEMENT NOTICE
Applications complete in all respects, on prescribed form are invited from the permanent residents of the Jammu & Kashmir State for the following posts:-
1. Assistant Programmer (No. of Posts 01, Category ST, Pay Scale 9300-34800, Grade Pay 4200)
Eligibility:- MCA/B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science/BCA with minimum two years experience with at least 60% of aggregate marks.
2. Laboratory Assistant (Botany) (No. of Posts 01, Category ALC, Pay Scale 9300-34800, Grade Pay 4200)
Eligibility:- M.Sc in Botany.
3. Technical Assistant (Physics & Electronics) (No. of Posts 01, Category Open, Pay Scale 5200-20200, Grade Pay 2800)
Eligibility:- 10+2 with 2 years Diploma in Electronics from a recognized Institute/Centre.
4. Steno-Typist (No. of Posts 12, Category Open=4, ST=2, SC=2, RBA=3, ALC=1, Pay Scale 5200-20200, Grade Pay 2400)
Eligibility:- Graduate having a minimum speed of 60 w.p.m. in shorthand and 40 words w.p.m. in typing.
5. Draftsman (No. of Posts 01, Category Open, Pay Scale 5200-20200, Grade Pay 2800)
Eligibility:- Two years Diploma in Draftsmanship from a recognized Institute.
6. Electrician (No. of Posts 01, Category RBA, Pay Scale 5200-20200, Grade Pay 1900)
Eligibility:- Matric with Diploma from ITI in relevant trade.
7. Plumber (No. of Posts 01, Category SC, Pay Scale 5200-20200, Grade Pay 1900)
Eligibility:- ITI Diploma in relevant trade.
8. Gasman (Physics) (No. of Posts 01, Category RBA, Pay Scale 4440-7440, Grade Pay 1650)
Eligibility:- Middle Pass and Certificate Course from ITI or Middle Pass with skill in the trade.
Age as on 01.01.2009: -
i) Minimum for all candidates: = 18 years
ii) Maximum for:
a) General Candidates = 37 years
b) Socially & Educationally Backward Classes viz.
Weak & Under Privileged Classes (Social Caste)/
ALC/SC/ST/RBA candidates = 40 years
c) Physically Handicapped = 39 years
d) Ex-Serviceman = 48 years
e) Candidates already in Government
Service = 40 years
Prescribed application form can be obtained from Forms & Stationery Section (Room No. 204, 2nd floor, Adm Block) University of Jammu, Jammu, personally on payment of Rs. 125/- or by-post by sending Bank Draft of Rs. 175/- drawn in favour of the REGISTRAR, UNIVERSITY OF JAMMU, JAMMU-180006, payable at Jammu.
Application forms accompanied with attested copies of qualification certificates/testimonials including experience certificates issued by the competent authority, alongwith self-addressed envelope affixed with postal stamps worth Rs. 30/- be sent only by Registered/Speed Post to the Assistant Registrar, Adm.(C&R), Room No.112, Administrative Block, University of Jammu, so as to reach him on or before 24th December, 2009.
Note:
I. If the number of applications received in response to this advertisement in respect of any of the posts is large, the University may shortlist the candidates on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed or by conducting a written/screening test. The interview letters shall be sent under Certificate of Posting/Speed Post. The University shall, however, be not responsible for any postal delay/lapse.
II. Applications by Government Servants should be sent through the Administrative Authority concerned, by the University Employees through the Registrars of their respective Universities and by the persons employed in the private Firms and Institutions through the Heads of the Firms/Institutions concerned. Applications not routed through the respective channels are liable to be rejected.
III. Applications received late or on plain paper or incomplete in any respect will not be entertained.
IV. The number of vacancies shown above is tentative and the same may increase or decrease, determinable at the time of selection.
V. Candidates selected for appointment will be placed on probation for two years. During the probationary period their services can be terminated on one month’s notice or on payment of one month’s salary.
VI. Candidates selected for appointment will have to produce the original documents relating to their age, qualifications, experience, category and fitness, etc., before joining the post to which they are appointed.
VII. Terms and conditions of appointment of candidates shall be governed by the provisions of the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act, 1969, and the Statutes and Regulations made there under from time to time. Where the University does not have its own service rules, those prescribed by the State Government for its employees are, mutatis mutandis, applicable to the University employees also.
VIII. Candidates invited for interview will have to present themselves for interview at Jammu at their own cost.
IX. Canvassing in any form by or on behalf of the candidate will be a disqualification.
X. The University reserves the right not to fill up any of the vacancies advertised, if circumstances so warrant, without assigning any reason thereof.
Note:- The candidates who have already applied for the post of Assistant Programmer need not to apply again.
However, if they have acquired any additional qualification/experience after the submission of their forms, they may furnish the same on plain paper up to the last date of receipt of application forms for its consideration while determining their eligibility.
