About PGIMER Chandigarh: The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963. The Institute was originally under the Government of undivided Punjab. After the reorganization of the state, the administrative control of the institute passed on to the Union Territory of Chandigarh in November 1966.
Applications on prescribed form are invited from the citizens of India for the posts of Sister Grade-II on regular basis, as under:-

Salary Grade: Rs.9300-34800 G.Pay Rs.4600
Total Number of Posts: 265
The number of posts are subject to variation/increase.
ESSENTIAL QULIFICATION (s)
a) Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized Board/University.
b) Certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized Institute or equivalent qualifications for male nurse.
c) Should be registered ‘A’ Grade Nurse and Midwife with State Nursing Council equivalent qualification for male nurse.
AGE LIMIT:
18-30 years (Age relaxation will be given to SC upto 35 years and OBC 33 years and to Govt. Servants/departmental candidates as per rules)
Note: In case the number of candidates is large, a screening test may be conducted.

How To Apply: Application form and detailed information can be obtained from the office of the Medical Superintendent, Nursing Cell (Establishment), Nehru Hospital, PGIMER, Chandigarh – 160012 either personally or on written request accompanied by a self addressed & stamped (Rs.10/-) envelope (27 cm x 12 cm) along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 325/-(Rs. 175 for SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of the Director PGIMER, Chandigarh payable at State Bank of India, Sector 12, Chandigarh (Code No. 1524) as cost of application form and fee (non-refundable) etc.

A Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- (150/- for SC/ST candidates) should be enclosed with application downloaded from our website, towards non-refundable application fee and cost of application form etc. Incomplete applications and the application received after the due date will be summarily rejected.
