Applications in the prescribed form are invited for faculty positions of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna in various Engineerting, Humanities, Social Science and Science disciplines.

Pay Band : Rs.37400- 67000 (PB-4) with AGP Rs.9000/-

Designation : Assistant Professor
No. of Posts: 33
Pay Band Rs.15600- 39100 (PB-3) with AGP Rs.6000/-

Application Fee: Rs.600/- (Rupees six hundred only) for General/OBC
applicants and Rs.300/- for SC/ST/PH applicants. The application form must
accompany with the required application fee through Demand Draft in favour of
“National Institute of Technology Patna” payable at Patna. Candidates from abroad
can also apply using the downloaded application form along with fee of US$100 or
its equivalent.

Last Date of submission of Application form: The completed application form
alongwith the required application fee (non-refundable) should reach “the Registrar,
NIT Patna, Ashok Rajpath, Patna-800005” by 27.02.2009 22.01.2010. Application
should be sent by Speed Post/Registered Post only.

Note :
1. Candidates are required to submit their application in prescribed format
downloaded from Institute website, neatly handwritten or typed in English, alongwith
the required application fee.
2. Incomplete application form/Applications received after last date of
submission of application will not be entertained.
3. Applicants, who are in employment of Government/Govt.Undertaking/
Autonomous Body, must send their application through proper channel.
4. Application should must be supported with copies of certificates, marks
sheets, testimonials, documents etc. the documents will be verified at the time of
interview.
5. Applicants desiring to apply for more than one post should send a separate
application for each post.
6. For candidates (i) staying aboard and (ii) those posted at Andaman & Nicobar/
Lakshdeep and Minicoy Island/Assam/Meghalaya/Arunachal Pradesh/ Nagaland/
Mizoram/ Manipur/Tripura/Sikkim/Ladakh Division of J&K state/Lahaul and Spiti
District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, the last
date for receipt of application will be 14 days after last date specified.
7. Whenever experience is prescribed for eligibility to a post, the term
‘experience’ means requisite experience gained/obtained from recognized institutions
of the Central or State Government or Central/State Public Sector Undertakings/
Autonomous Bodies/Universities/AICTE approved Institutions. Experience
certificate obtained from sundry private institutions etc. shall not be taken into
consideration for grant of eligibility unless experience in private organization has
been specifically permitted in the qualification and experience prescribed for the
post.
8. The Educational qualification, experience and other condition of eligibility as
stipulated shall be determined as on the closing date of receipt of application i.e.
27-02-2009 22.01.2010.
9. Canvassing in any manner at any stage by or on behalf of a candidate will lead
to disqualification.
10. The institute reserves its right to increase or decrease the number of posts or
cancel the recruitment procedure to any post or all posts without any prior notice and
without assigning any reason thereof.
11. In case where the number of applicants for a post becomes extraordinarily
large, the institute reserves its right to restrict the number of applicants by fixing
higher qualifications/short listing as yard stick for granting eligibility for the
interview
