Indian Navy Recruitment 2010 – SSC Officer Vacancy
The Indian Navy Is Recruiting Short Service Commissioned (SSC) Officer as Pilot in Executive Branch Course Commencing – January 2011
Applications are invited from unmarried Male Indian Citizens for Short Service Commission (SSC) Officer in Executive Branch of the Indian Navy as Pilot for Course commencing January 2011 at Naval Academy.
Eligibility Conditions:
Age: Between 19 to 23 years (candidates to be born between 02 January 1988 to 01 January 1992; both dates inclusive)
Educational Qualifications : (a) A Graduate Degree in any discipline with minimum 60% marks with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Physical Standards: Hight and Wieght: Minimum height Male – 162.5 cms with correlated weight. Eye Sight – The minimum acceptable standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 connectable to 6/6, 6/6 and should not be colour/night blind.
SSC: Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirements and performance/willingness of the candidate. Officers of the as Pilot in Executive Branch will not be given any extension beyond fourteen years and will not be eligible for permanent commission.
How to Apply:
(a)Application Forms in accordance with the prescribed format and complete in all respects with superscription on the envelope “APPLICATION FOR SSC PILOTS – JAN 2011 COURSE, Qualification………………………… .…..…………… Percentage…………..%” is to be sent to the address given below by 13 Apr 2010. Applications sent by Speed Post/Registered Post/Courier will not be accepted. POST BAG NO. 04, RK PURAM PO(MAIN), NEW DELHI – 110 066.
(b) Application must be sent in the format given in the advertisement, otherwise it will be rejected.
(c) Application must be accompanied by attested copies of : – (i) 10th Standard Certificate for verification of date of birth, (ii) other educational certificates, (iii) Marks statement of all semesters/years.
(d) Application and requisite enclosures must be properly tagged/stitched by thread only. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) will not be responsible for loss of enclosures, if sent loose.
(e) Applicants should endorse their willingness to be considered for Executive (General Service)in case not qualifying PABT/Aviation medicals to be considered for the same.
(f) Applicants who have failed in PABT (Pilot Apptitude Battery Test) earlier are not eligible for the scheme.
Selection Procedure:
(a) Candidates will be issued call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their performance in educational qualification. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage without assigning any reason. No communication will be entertained on this account.
(b) SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled from Aug to Nov 2010 at Bangalore.
(c) The total duration of SSB interviews is five days, consisting of stage I (Day one) and stage II (Four days). Stage I Tests, consist of Intelligence Tests, Picture Perception and Group Discussion Tests.Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be sent back on the same day from SSB Centre. Stage II Tests consists of Psychological Tests, Group Task Tests and Interview. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo PABT (Pilot Aptitude attery Tests) followed by Aviation Medical examination.
(d) Candidates recommended by the SSBs, cleared PABT and declared medically fit will be appointed for training based on merit list, depending on the number of vacancies.
(e) Candidates not cleared PABT/Aviation medicals if opted for Short Service (Executive) may be considered for the same, if qualified medically & educationally {BE/BTech/ BSc(Phy & Maths)} provided vacancies exist and based on their position in the merit list.
(f) Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstances.
(g) Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates be addressed to the President of the SSB on receipt of call up letter and copy endorsed to Directorate of Manpower Planning & Recruitment (OI&R), Room No 204, ‘C’ Wing. Sena Bhavan, IHQ-MoD (N), New Delhi-110011 (Fax No 011-23011282).
(h) No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests.
(j) Return 2nd Class Sleeper rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for this entry.
Duties of Pilots:
On completion of basic flying training and on award of wings after commission, you would have an opportunity to fly Fixed Wing Aircraft or helicopters. This could be from an aircraft carrier, other ship’s decks or from an airfield ashore. You would be flying machines at the cutting edge of technology. You would actively participate in all facets of Naval Operations, i.e. Air, surface and sub-surface operations. An honourable exciting & adventurous life awaits you as a pilot in the Navy.
