Job Details : Applications are invited from male Indian nationals possessing educational qualifications and age, as prescribed below, for recruitment to the post of Yantriks, Naviks (General Duty) and Naviks (Domestic Branch) in the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union.
Designation :Yantrik
Education : Matriculate with three years Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics Engg. Recognized by AICTE.
Age Limit : 18-22 years (5 years relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC)
Physical Standards : Height 157 cms, Weight Proportionate to Height Eye sight 6/12 and 6/24
Designation : Navik (General Duty)
Education: 10+2 with Maths and Physics from an Education Board recognized by Central/ State Government.
Age Limit : 18-22 years (5 years relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC )
Physical Standard : Height 157 cms , Weight Proportionate to height, Eye sight 6/6 and 6/9 without glasses
Designation : Naviks Domestic Branch (Cook & Steward):
Education: Matriculate
Age Limit : 18-22 years (5 years relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC)
Physical Standards : Height 157 cms, Weight Proportionate to height, Eye sight 6/18 and 6/36

Training Pattern :
- Basic training with Navy at INS Chilka, Orissa 20 weeks
- Afloat training onboard Coast Guard Ships 08 weeks
- Professional Training at various Naval Schools 30 weeks .
How To Apply:
For Naviks(GD/DB):
- The recruitment is conducted bi-annually.
- The advertisement is given in employment news all over India, both in Hindi as well as in English. The recruitment is conducted in 5 zones viz., Western Zone, Eastern Zone, North-Eastern Zone, A&N Zone and North Zone.
- The shortlisted candidates are called for selection test at convenient centre at various zones.
- The candidates are subjected to Mental Ability Test (Verbal & Non-Verbal), (only Non-Verbal in case of DB), entrance test and interview. During the written test and interview the candidates have the option of answering in Hindi/English.
- The qualified candidates are to undergo medical examination, those who clear the medical examination are selected as per merit list.
For Yantriks :
- The recruitment is conducted bi-annually.
- The advertisement is given in employment news all over India, both in Hindi as well as in English.
- The recruitment is conducted in eight centre all over India, viz New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Calcutta, Vizag, Kochi, New Mangalore and Goa.
- The shortlisted candidates are called for selection tests at centre of their choice.
- The candidates are subjected to written test. Those who qualify the written test undergo interview.
- The qualified candidates are to undergo medical examination. If qualified they are selected as per merit list.
