Applications are invited for positions of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors with proven research record in thrust areas mentioned above and other related areas. Minimum qualifications and pay scales will be as per UGC norms. Selection for senior positions may not be restricted to the pool of applicants. Contractual appointments on deputation or otherwise may also be considered:

Professor-Posts-7

Persons with Doctoral degree and Master’s degree in any of the social science subjects including Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Public Administration and Sociology may apply.

Assistant Professor-Posts-5

Persons with Doctoral degree and Master’s degree in any of the social science subjects including Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Public Administration and Sociology may apply.

Associate Professor-Posts-6

How To Apply:
The complete application form along with required documents has to be sent through Speed /Registered post to the Administrative Officer, G.B. Pant Social Science Institute, Allahabad latest by 15.9.2010. Envelope containing application should be superscribed as “Application for the Faculty posts”.

General Instructions:
1. The applicants are advised to go through the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers & Other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education 2010 available on www.ugc.ac.in.. The minimum qualifications for various posts and pay scales shall be as prescribed in the said Regulations.
2. Applicants are required to fill their Academic Performance Indicator (API) scores in Items 5-10 of the Application using Table 1 in the Annexure.
3. All applicants for Professors and Associate Professors are required to submit photocopies/reprints of five of their publications and mention the same in Item 16 of the application. Applications without these attachments will not be considered. Applicants for Assistant Professors may also attach their publications.
4. The Institute reserves the right to:
(a) offer the post at a level lower than that advertised, depending upon the qualifications, experience and performance of the candidate;
(b) draw reserve panel(s) against the possible vacancies in the future;
(c) not to fill up any of the advertised positions.
5. Reservation Policy will be followed as per Government of India Rules. The SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates are required to attach the relevant certificate as per format prescribed by the Government of India.
6. A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master’s level for the SC/ST/PH category candidates.
